No two people are alike. Each of us has different preferences and personalities. The same goes for hobbies and activities. Some people like to read books, play sports, listen to music, watch movies, collect stamps, like to travel, animal lovers and some are green fingers (they love to plant). Participating in these types of activities helps us forget the problems we face in life so that we can relax and enjoy life. I’m going to change the subject for a moment and talk about an activity or hobby that anyone can start right away. Have you ever thought that you could start a hobby that will make you money? 

Starting an affiliate marketing hobby will help generate a second income that will greatly help your family. Affiliate marketing is a joint venture or partnership between 2 people. The stage would look like this; a person would create a product that they would like to sell but would need someone (an affiliate marketer) to help promote their product. The seller would set a certain percentage that would be paid to the partner. The same procedure is followed when promoting a product for a large company. You do not need to pay cash upfront when you are on your way to becoming an affiliate marketer. It is not necessary to keep any records or customer information, as this obligation falls on the shoulders of the seller or the company. 

Here are some of the qualities you must have to become a successful affiliate marketer: 

1. Have a strong desire to be successful. 

2. Don’t be impatient. Sometimes it takes a while before you see any results from promoting other people’s products. Patience will prevent you from making hasty decisions. 

3. Familiarize yourself with the product you are promoting. Clients like it when they talk to someone who knows what they are doing. Try the product or program first to see if you are satisfied with it. 

4. Never give up. Most affiliate marketers give up because they have doubts. Success doesn’t come overnight. It will take weeks, months, or even years for your website to appear on the first page of a search engine. For my home office website, it took me a year to finally reach the top 5 search results on Google. It took a lot of work and lots of published articles to get it to appear on the first page of Google. 

5. Learn from established and successful affiliate marketers. There are many guides and tools provided for the new affiliate marketer. Take the time to read and study his techniques. 

6. Don’t just post ordinary links on a website. Do your homework on the topic. Write an article or e-book that tells your readers what you have learned on this topic and let them know how purchasing this product will help them. Create a content-heavy website that is beneficial to your readers. By doing so, you create a special bond between you and the customer.
